Our showroom occupies the interior of the Ariëns Memorial Church, a listed building from 1922 that served as a parish until 2019. After a careful adaptive reuse, we opened Mokana Meubelen here, with the Ledercollection inside. Twelve-metre vaulted ceilings, original stained-glass windows, and a quiet you simply do not find in an ordinary furniture shop.
When the Ariëns Memorial Church was deconsecrated in 2019, we saw the chance at once. Where other church buildings around Enschede became restaurants or sports halls, we chose something quieter, a place where leather can stand in its own light.
The daylight that falls through the stained glass shifts over the course of a day, from cool morning blue to warm afternoon gold. You see exactly how the sofa you are considering behaves in varying light. The vaults absorb sound, so you do not hear in-store music or the chatter of other customers. You mostly hear coffee being poured and whatever you came in thinking about.
Three-seat sofas, corner groups, lounge sofas and armchairs, from each of the six houses we carry.
