№ 01 · Our bestseller, patina with character

Africa
leather.

Africa is the leather our customers pick most often. A full-grain aniline leather from Italian family tanneries, lightly washed and lightly pigmented, with the hide's natural grain visible at the surface. No uniform coating, no plastic layer, no perfect evenness. What you see is leather in its proper form.

This leather lives. Creases deepen after a year of sitting, sunlight subtly shifts the colour, tone travels with the seasons. It becomes better, not worse. For anyone who loves rugged hides with character, who wants a sofa that moves with a family, that looks better in ten years than the day it arrived.

№ 01 · Character

How Africa leather behaves in a room

a

Thick, sturdy hide

Full-grain means the top, strongest layer of the hide remains intact. No split leather, no stuck-on surface. That makes Africa tougher than semi-aniline and covered leathers, and much thicker than soft nappa variants.

b

Light aniline bath, little pigment

Aniline tanning preserves the natural structure. You see the pores, the small scars from the animal's life, the shifts in colour saturation across each hide. Every sofa is therefore literally unique.

c

Builds patina in 6 to 12 months

Where you sit daily, colour deepens and warms. Armrests acquire a brighter sheen, the seat gains a softer glow. That is not wear. That is the leather settling into your home.

№ 03 · Care

Care for Africa leather

Africa does not need intensive care. It needs routine.

Weekly
Dust with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush. No water.
Every 3 to 6 months
Work in a leather balm or oil suitable for aniline leather. Circular motions, small quantity at a time.
Immediately on a stain
Dab with a lightly damp cloth. No soap, no alcohol, no grease solvents.
Sun and heat
Avoid direct sun on fixed spots. No underfloor heating directly beneath the sofa unless raised on feet of 8 cm or more.
№ 04 · Who it suits

Who Africa suits best

+ Good fit

Lovers of patina, industrial and vintage interiors, households without scratching pets, anyone who wants a sofa that gains character with the years.

! Less suited

Small children or cats with sharp claws ask for extra care. Greasy food stains can soak into the hide. In those situations Kenia, Toledo, or Eco leather fit better.
