01What are the delivery times?
Stock models, about fifteen of our sofas, we usually deliver within a week. Made-to-order models have a production time of 6 to 10 weeks, depending on the factory and the chosen leather. Chesterfields are hand-built in the Netherlands and take 8 to 12 weeks. Once the sofa arrives with us, we call you to schedule a delivery slot, usually within a few days. For every order you receive an estimated delivery date at checkout, and we keep you informed along the way.
02What does delivery cost?
Within Twente (Enschede, Hengelo, Oldenzaal, Almelo and surrounding towns) delivery is free, including placement in the room of your choice. To the rest of the Netherlands we charge from € 95 depending on postcode. To Germany we start at € 125 for the border region, rising with distance. Belgium is available on request. Send us your postcode and the sofa you're considering, we'll calculate the exact price.
03Will you take my old sofa away?
Yes, free of charge, as long as your old sofa is accessible (not bolted into an attic reachable only by a spiral staircase). Mention it at order time or when we plan the delivery so our drivers can plan for it. We handle the responsible disposal. If your sofa is still in good condition, we look for a suitable second home, otherwise it goes to proper recycling.
04Which payment methods do you accept?
All the usual ones, and a few more. You can pay with In3 (three instalments, 0% interest, no credit check), Klarna (Pay Later or Pay in 3), iDEAL, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. In the showroom or at delivery, card or cash. For larger amounts or business customers, bank transfer is possible. We never ask for a deposit, you pay when the sofa is in your home, or at the moment of your choice through In3/Klarna.
05Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. This is a conscious choice of ours, and one we mention openly because many competitors do require one. Only at delivery (or, with In3/Klarna, at the moment you chose) do we settle. For very large bespoke orders we can arrange a part-payment if it suits both parties, but that's rare. Unsure? Just ask at checkout, we'll walk you through exactly what you pay when.
06Do I have 14 days to change my mind?
Yes. Every online order comes with a 14-day cooling-off period from the moment of delivery, as Dutch distance-selling law requires. You can return the sofa within that window, provided it is in original condition. We collect it free of charge. For bespoke orders (custom leathers, non-standard dimensions, special colours) the legal exception applies and we can't accept returns, we'll tell you clearly at the time of order.
07How do I care for my leather sofa?
Less than most people think. Dust weekly with a dry, soft cloth. No water, no soap, no baby wipes. Once a year, on pull-up leathers such as Rancho, more often, treat the leather with a balm or beeswax product made for the type. With every delivery you receive a care booklet matching your leather. If you do get a stain, call us immediately: the first minutes often make the difference.
08Does leather wear out?
Leather doesn't wear like fabric, it patinates. Where you sit daily, the leather grows a touch darker or softer. This isn't a defect but character; many of our customers find the sofa more beautiful after two years than on delivery day. On pull-up leathers (Rancho, Africa Vintage) this effect is deliberately built in. On Foggia and Kenia the look stays much more even. We're happy to advise which leather suits your usage and expectations.
09What warranty do I get?
A standard 2-year statutory warranty, plus additional manufacturer warranties that vary by brand (Het Anker: 10 years on frame, 5 on suspension; HE Design: 10 years on construction). We are CBW-certified, meaning you are also protected through the Dutch furniture industry association in case of unexpected issues. If anything goes wrong with your sofa, call us first, we usually solve it immediately, without formal procedures.
10Can I have a sofa made to measure?
Yes. Customisation is more the rule than the exception with us. Brands such as Haveco, Het Anker and DS Meubels can adjust dimensions, seat height, armrests, cushion fill and leather choice to your room. Chill Line works entirely bespoke. The surcharge depends on what you ask for, often less than customers expect. Book an appointment in the showroom, bring your floor plan, and we'll sketch out what fits.
11Do you deliver to Germany and Belgium?
Yes. From Enschede our own drivers travel regularly to North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and further into Germany. To Belgium we deliver on request, mostly Flanders. Delivery costs start at € 125 for the German border region and rise with distance. Every delivery includes placement, and the old sofa may be taken away free of charge. Send us your postcode for an exact price and delivery time, usually 2 to 4 working days.
12Do I need an appointment for the showroom?
No. Just come by during our opening hours, Monday 13:00–18:00, Tuesday to Friday 10:00–18:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00. Closed on Sundays. For an in-depth consultation or specific needs, an appointment is useful so we can block time for you. Call 053 433 50 32 or message +31 6 19107691, we'll always find a moment.
13Can I try the sofas out?
Absolutely, we encourage it. All 75+ models in the showroom are there to sit on, lie on, feel. Bring your partner, take your shoes off, sit the way you'd sit at home. A seat that feels comfortable in the first 30 seconds can be different after an hour, and vice versa. We offer coffee, no pressure. For bespoke seating we can arrange a try-out model, but usually half an hour in the showroom is enough.
14Can I get free leather samples?
Yes, free of charge. On our Free samples page you can request up to three leather swatches, we post them within three working days. You can compare hand, colour and look at home against your floor, walls and curtains. For more than three samples or specific colour variants, just call or message us; we'll nearly always sort it. Prefer to visit? You can take swatches home from the showroom too.
15Does leather work with underfloor heating?
Yes, as long as the floor temperature stays within normal limits. Underfloor heating usually warms the floor to 20–22°C, no issue for leather. Just don't place your sofa on top of a powerful heat source or directly against a hot radiator; long-term, leather can dry out or shrink there. Our drivers will point out the ideal position at placement, and in the showroom we're happy to show you which clearance we recommend.
16Can my sofa stand in direct sunlight?
Better not, though it's less strict than with fabric. All leathers shift colour slightly in long direct sunlight, Africa and Rancho beautifully so, Foggia and Granada more evenly. To keep the colour as much as possible, don't place the sofa directly in front of a south-facing window, or rotate the cushions every six months. For very sunny rooms we recommend pigmented leathers (Granada, Foggia) over aniline leathers (Africa, Kenia).
17Is leather suitable for pet owners?
Cats and dogs on a leather sofa work very well, often better than fabric. Hairs don't cling, stains are easier to clean, and urine or saliva don't damage leather quickly. Claw scratches can happen, on pull-up leathers (Rancho, Africa) they blend into the patina, on pigmented leathers (Granada, Foggia) they stay visible longer. Our advice: pick a sturdier leather such as Kenia or Rancho, and trim the claws.
