Ledercollection is the online leather arm of Mokana Meubelen · a family business from Twente that has been selling leather sofas for more than a quarter of a century, from a place unlike any other.
Our showroom is located in the monumental Ariëns Memorial Church on the Hogelandsingel in Enschede. 3,000 square metres of leather sofas, beneath high church vaults and original stained-glass windows.
Mokana Meubelen was founded in 1998 as a small family business in the east of Twente. The choice for leather wasn't marketing, it was a love for a material that grows more beautiful over the years, that is honest, that lasts for generations.
In the first years we worked from a modest shop in Enschede. We got to know the Dutch makers in person: Het Anker in Druten, Chill Line, DS Meubels, Haveco, and HE Design from Tilburg. The collection grew slowly, and with it, the need for a place where the leather could truly be felt.
In 2019 we made an unusual choice. We moved the entire shop into the Ariëns Memorial Church on the Hogelandsingel, a former Roman Catholic church from 1922, a listed monument, with vaults twelve metres high and original stained-glass windows still intact. The acoustics, the light that falls through those windows on a winter morning, the stillness: it matched exactly what we wanted to tell with leather.
Today, across those 3,000 square metres, we show more than 75 leather models from our signature brands, Het Anker, Chill Line, DS Meubels, Haveco, Easy Sofa and HE Design. All our leathers (Africa, Kenia, Foggia, Granada, Rancho and Toledo) are sourced from Italian tanneries whose people we know.
We have been CBW-certified since our founding, meaning we meet the quality and warranty standards of the Dutch furniture industry association. On Google we have 650 reviews averaging five stars, a number that humbles us, and that we work to deserve every day.
Our delivery drivers are not a third party. Two regular team members drive every sofa we deliver to the customer's home themselves, in Twente, elsewhere in the Netherlands, or across the border to Germany and Belgium. They place it in the room of your choice and, if you wish, take your old sofa away at no cost.
That is our story, in short. Rather come to Enschede for the longer version, beneath the church vaults, with coffee and no pressure.
Coffee is ready. Take your time, feel the leathers, sit down. We won't sell you anything you don't want.
